The UN-affiliated fund that assists developing countries counter climate change is hiring its next Ombudsperson. The consultant position reports to the Fund’s Executive Director and serve staff with work-related complaints, disputes and issues. The appointment will be as an international Consultant working part-time, remotely, for an initial period of 12 months. The Consultant will be required to visit the Fund’s offices in Songdo, South Korea, periodically.
The GCF Ombuds program was established last year by Donna Douglass Williams, who recently became the first Ombuds for UConn Health.
GCF is seeking an experienced Ombuds for the position. Applicants must have an advanced degree in law, HR management or another relevant field; at least 12 years of relevant professional experience in multicultural and international work environments; at least 5 years of experience as an Ombudsperson in a similar setting to the GCF; and a thorough understanding of the legal framework of international organizations, including dispute resolution mechanisms of international organizations. Fluency in English is essential and knowledge of another United Nations language is an advantage. No salary indicated. Applications are due by February 14, 2020. (GCF Jobs.)
