Job Posting: Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and Blind

The state agency that operates three center schools and five regional cooperatives has re-opened its search for its first Ombudsman. In July 2021, ASDB issued a request for proposals for an independent contractor with some concerning non-neutral and formal responsibilities. The new search seeks an employee with duties of an Organizational Ombuds. Hours are "as needed" and statewide travel may be required.

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree and seven years of related experience (or combination of education and experience). Professional certification (Ombuds or complaint handling practice) and formal training (mediation, conflict resolution processes, motivational interviewing skills, and facilitation) are preferred.
