Pacific University Establishes Ombuds Office

The private, religious university in Forest Grove, Oregon, has unveiled an Ombuds program to serve its faculty, staff, and administrators. The Pacific Ombuds Team is provided by MWI with Derrick Johnson and Birthe Reimers serving as the Ombuds. The new program reports to Pacific University's president operates under charter that adopts IOA standards. 

The Pacific Ombuds Team has significant higher education experience through MWI and independently. Johnson has served as the ombuds for Florida State College at Jacksonville since 2018. Reimers has been the Director of the Office of the Ombudsperson at Georgia State University also since 2018. In addition, both were outsourced Ombuds for the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2024. (Pacific University Ombuds.)
