European Union of the Deaf Youth Names Ombuds, Seeks Two More

Loran Ripard Xuereb has been named a 2025-26 Ombuds for EUDY, the European organization of national associations of deaf young people. The organization says that it is seeking two more Ombuds, but application criteria are not publicly available. The EUDY Ombuds serve on an independent committee and act as mediators for issues involving EUDY members and other internal bodies, including EUDY's board. The Ombuds committee also forwards complaints to the board.

Xuereb is the only DeafBlind person in archipelago of Malta and Gozo and is a member of the Maltese Sign Language council, a board member of the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability, and Past President of the Deaf People Association Malta committee, and a member of the European DeafBlind Organisational Committee.
