The private university in NYC is set to hire a Director of Faculty Relations. According to the posting, the "role will serve as a central, neutral resource for faculty relations, functioning in many respects like an ombuds who offers impartial guidance, helping faculty and academic leaders navigate complex personnel issues, and fostering constructive dialogue." The position reports to the Associate Vice President of Employee and Labor Relations.

Applicants for the open position must have a Bachelor's degree and at least ten years of faculty relations experience. Preferred qualifications include a Doctoral or Master's degree, experience at a large, decentralized university, and many KSA's that overlap with Ombuds work. Applicants should note that NYU created an Ombuds Working Group in July 2024 to explore the possible creation of an Organizational Ombuds office, but that group has not published anything yet.
