University of Tennessee at Martin Creates Ombuds Program
Merry Brown has been appointed the inaugural Ombuds for the UT campus in northwest Tennessee. She is expected to provide services to over 1,100 faculty and staff on the rural campus. Although details about the office are not public yet, other Ombuds programs in the University of Tennessee follow IOA standards.
Brown comes to the job with seven years of professional experience as a mediator, trainer, and conflict consultant. In addition, she was a lecturer at UT Martin from 2003 to 2021. Her resume also includes five years at Saint Louis University School for Professional Studies, culminating in as Director of Enrollment and Student Services. (LinkedIn.)
