After a decade in the role, Charles Walcott will retire later this year from his post as University Ombudsman. The part-time position has capped a 40-year career at the Ivy League school in Upstate New York. Walcott is a Professor Emeritus of Neurobiology and Behavior in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and previously was the director of the renowned Ornithology Lab and served as dean of the University Faculty and chair of the University Assembly. The university will conduct an internal search for a faculty successor. Meanwhile, Linda Falkson remains the full-time Director of the office and is assisted by Assistant Ombudsman, Tracey Brant.
