Alfred University Names Two Ombuds

The small private university in the Southern Tier of New York has named two new, collateral-duty Ombuds: Frederic Beaudry and Jenny McCumiskey. Together, they provide services to about 2,800 faculty, staff, and students. Beaudry is a Professor of Environmental Studies and McCumiskey is the Director of Advancement Services. (Alfred Ombuds.)

Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals.
