Transport Canada Names First Ombuds

Nadia Lecuyer has been appointed the inaugural Ombuds for the federal agency that regulates land, sea, and air transportation industries in Canada. The Ombuds program emerged from a set of recommendations following a departmental self assessment for diversity and inclusion in April 2024. 

Lecuyer come to Transport Canada with over two decades of government work in harassment prevention and response, most recently as Director of Restorative Engagement for the Sexual Misconduct Support and Resource Centre, a federal program in Ottawa for the Canadian Armed Forces. She graduated from Heritage College and earned a Master's degree at the University of Ottawa. (LinkedIn; Transport Canada Self Assessment.)
