IADB has named Isabel Lavadenz-Paccieri to lead the bank's Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism. As the ICIM Ombuds, Lavadenz will address complaints from parties affected by IADB project utilizing flexible and consensual methods.
Lavadenz worked at the World Bank for 12 years in land administration, natural resource management and rural development in the Latin America and South Asia, including a stint as Director of the Latin America and the Caribbean region at the International Fund for Agricultural Development in Rome. Prior to joining the World Bank, Lavadenz was the Principal Advisor to the establishment of the National Ombudsman Office in Bolivia. She earned her Master's in Law from the University of San Andrés Bolivia and completed post-graduate studies in Sustainable Development and on Conflict Resolution in Costa Rica and Bolivia. (IADB ICIM.)
It appears that the ICIM Project Ombuds will operate independently of the IADB Office of the Ombudsperson.
