The Global Fund Selects Next Ombuds

Sue Ackerly has been hired as the next Ombudsperson for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Ackerly will serve staff, consultants, and interns of the international non-profits following IOA standards. Ackerly is based in Melbourne, Australia and will provide her services remotely. 

Ackerly has worked as Organizational Ombuds for several years, most recently as a Workplace Conciliator for the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions in Victoria. A psychologist for three decades, she brings also experience in mental health, wellbeing, coaching and mediation. Ackerly graduated from Monash University and earned a graduate diploma in Counselling at RMIT University. (The Global Fund Updates; LinkedIn.)

Earlier this year, the Global Fund and the Gavi Vaccine Alliance, which shared the services of one Ombudsman, Indumati Sen, had requested proposals for a new Ombuds program. It now appears that plan was scrapped and Sen continues as the Ombuds for Gavi. (LinkedIn.)
