University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Names First Ombuds

Veronica Cano has been appointed the first Faculty Ombudsperson for the public research university at the southern tip of Texas. In the new full-time role, she will serve about 1,200 academic employees and practice to IOA standards. 

Cano has been an part-time lecturer in the School of Social Work at UTRGV. She graduated from St. Mary's University and earned her MSW at the University of Houston. (UTRGV Ombuds.)
