Laura Svetkey has joined the Office of the Ombudsperson at the Duke University School of Medicine. She joins Ada Gregory, Ombuds for Undergraduate, Graduate, and Non-School of Medicine Professional Students; Jean Spaulding, Ombuds for School of Medicine Students and Postdoctoral Appointees; and Thomas Metzloff, Ombuds for University Faculty Members.
Svetkey is a Professor of Medicine/Nephrology, Director of Clinical Research, and Vice-chair for Faculty Development & Diversity. She earned her medical degree from Harvard, trained at Montefiore Medical Center, and did a fellowship at Duke. In her role as the Ombuds, she practices to IOA standards. (Duke Ombuds.)
