Meet the New Ombuds for Baylor College of Medicine

Last October, the medical school named Laurel Hyle as its first Ombudsperson for students, trainees, faculty and staff.  “I’m enjoying being a part of the Baylor family and excited that I have the opportunity to blend my past experience together,” she said. “My goal for the Ombuds Office is that everyone knows this resource is available and feels welcome to access it.”

Hyde brings extensive experience in higher education and medical education in particular.  Most recently, she was Associate General Counsel at Tulane University.  She has also been a Legal Officer at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and a Fellow in Advanced Bioethics at the Cleveland Clinic.  She earned her JD at the University of Houston and an MPH at the University of Texas Health Science Center.  (BCM News; LinkedIn.)

She will be speaking at the upcoming IOA conference.
