Job Posting: Dalhousie University

The public university in Halifax has opened a search for its next Ombudsperson to serve a student population of 20,000. The office has been vacant since the departure of Diane Hawco in late 2018. (She is now a Justice of the Peace in Nova Scotia.) The full-time position will report to the Provost, with support from an Ombudsperson Advisory Committee, and restore and promote the Ombuds Office.

Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in a related field with at least five years experience in a post-secondary or public sector environment preferably in an Ombudsperson role (or equivalent combination of training and experience). A legal background is preferred. The position pays $68,116 - $92,158 and applications are due June 25, 2021. (Dalhousie Jobs.)
