Here's the announcement from from the Co-Conveners Marcia Gee Riley and Joan Watters:
The members of the Cal Caucus Planning Committee understand that many of you are facing unprecedented personal and professional challenges right now. Our intent as we reach out to you is rooted in sensitivity and compassion for our individual and collective struggles. We hope that our messaging is received as an act of care and a maintenance of a community that has given us strength, stability, and purpose.(Cal Caucus 2020 Info.)
We are currently planning for the California Caucus of College and University ombuds to be held Wednesday through Saturday at the Asilomar Conference Grounds on November 11-14, 2020.
We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and acknowledge that circumstances are very fluid at the moment. For that reason, we are making contingency plans and will be communicating any changes in as timely a manner as possible.
To assist us in planning, we would greatly appreciate if you could complete this quick survey. It takes about 5 minutes.
We are soliciting session proposals inspired by the theme, Elevating Curiosity: Embracing Identities and Strengthening Community.
We welcome presentations that consider how the theme intersects with our standards of practice as Ombuds. Presentations could explore the connections between neutrality, impartiality, independence, advocacy for fairness of process, and consider how social justice may be continued or furthered in the Ombuds world.
Proposal Format: We are using Google forms to collect session proposals. Detailed guidelines for submissions are located on our website.
Submission: Please use this Google Form to submit your proposal. If you have any difficulties using the form, please contact [breanne dot taylor at oregonstate dot edu] for assistance.
Deadline: Friday, May 1, 2020
If you have any questions about Cal Caucus or about your proposal, please contact the Co-Conveners by email:
