First Ombuds Appointed for Eindhoven University of Technology and Utrecht University
Roel Notten has been named the first Student Ombuds for Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e) and Universiteit Utrecht (UU). Under a joint agreement, the two Dutch universities are sharing the cost of the part-time position. Notten will serve 12,000 students at TU/e and over 30,000 at UU and serve an initial three-year term. He joins existing Staff Ombuds at both universities: Annemieke Meijer and Frans Pieter Sprik at UU and Anna Soedira at TU/e.
Notten is continuing his other work as a training manager for a local teacher's college. He has had a varied career, including consulting and project management work in the non-profit, academic, banking, and publishing sectors.
